Shendur Lal Chadhayo is a Hindi-language aarti for Ganpati (written in Devanagari script) — composed by Gosavinandan, traditionally sung alongside Sukhkarta Dukhharta in many Ganpati households.
Composer: Gosavinandan.
When to sing it: Alongside Sukhkarta Dukhharta in the daily Ganpati aarti, and during Ganeshotsav/Ganesh Chaturthi.
Meaning (brief): O elephant-faced one, a beautiful vermilion mark adorns you; you shine as the son of Gauri and Har; you hold a jaggery laddu in your hand — your glory cannot be described in words, so I bow at your feet. You are Ganaraj, the giver of knowledge and happiness; the eight siddhis serve you, and you destroy every obstacle. Whoever comes to you with loving devotion, you fill with abundance always.
The words and tune can vary slightly by household or sect. This text follows a traditional household Aarti Sangrah booklet.
