Ghalin Lotangan is a traditional closing prayer (samarop) sung at the end of any puja or aarti, for any deity — Sant Namdev's Marathi ovi followed by Sanskrit shlokas that express complete surrender to God.
Composer: The opening Marathi ovi is by Sant Namdev (Nama, c. 1270-1350 CE); the Sanskrit shlokas that follow are traditional, with no specific individual author recorded.
When to sing it: At the end of any deity's puja or aarti — a universal closing prayer, not tied to one particular god.
Meaning (brief): O God, I prostrate before you, bow to your feet, gaze upon your form with my eyes, embrace you in love, and worship and wave the lamp with devotion — says Nama. You alone are my mother, father, brother, friend, knowledge, and wealth; whatever I do with body, speech, mind, senses, intellect, or by nature, I offer it all to Narayana. It closes by recalling Vishnu's many names — Achyuta, Keshava, Ram-Narayana — and the Hare Rama Hare Krishna mahamantra.
