Composer: Samarth Ramdas Swami (1608–1682 CE) — a contemporary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and author of the Manache Shlok and Dasbodh; he signs this aarti with his own name, "Ramdas," in the closing line (the poet's signature, or chhaap).

When to sing it: The daily morning and evening aarti at Maruti/Hanuman temples, on Hanuman Jayanti, and during Tuesday and Saturday Hanuman puja/vrat.

Meaning (brief): O Hanuman, the very roar of your mighty leap makes the earth, oceans, and sky tremble; the whole universe is thrown into panic, and gods, humans, and demons alike flee. By your grace, one no longer fears even death. The netherworld resounds, the earth-bearer trembles, and mountains crack apart — the composer, Ramdas, closes by saying that it is through Ram's grace that he attained this realization (bodh) of power.
